SUMMER 2016

Hi there!  Thanks for checking out this blog.  We are here at STEM learning and doing wonderful things to help you be successful this year.  What are YOU doing to be successful this summer?  How are you revving up your brain?

  • Look at the links on this blog. Which one is MOST interesting to you and WHY?
  • Think about history. What is one thing you have always wanted to know from history?
  • Do History:  Research something COOL, everything has a history so find it out.  What's the history of a chair, shoes or the computer mouse? EVERYTHING has a cool story.
  • You and History:  What event, person or idea from the past RELATES to YOU?
  • GET AHEAD:  How can you work AHEAD to make you feel comfortable and prepared for your first few days in World History?
    • READ and DO: History of the World in 6 Glasses: Introduction Vital Fluids.  Keep a 5 W's Chart as you read (WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY)
    • LOOK and DO: A History of the World in 100 Objects.  Find 5 objects that interest you and create a 5 W's Chart (WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY) for each one.
    • LOOK and LEARN:  Take a look at the course letter (shared with you via Google Docs) take CORNELL NOTES (look that up if need be) on pages 2 and 3

ENJOY GETTING YOUR BRAIN AND SOUL MOVING! THERE IS SO MUCH JOY TO LEARN!
